When using Yoast SEO or some other SEO optimization plugin, you can set title and meta description tags for author archive pages.
But what about guest author archive pages? Well, despite “guest author” entity being a custom post type, from an archive-page perspective, they are handled as regular authors, so any custom title and meta description you set for author archive pages will also apply to guest author archive pages.
How to set title and meta description with Yoast SEO
Besides optimizing individual posts and pages, Yoast SEO plugin lets you set templates for titles and meta descriptions. You can do so in the Search Appearance section of Yoast SEO.
If you go to the ‘Search Appearance’ section you’ll see various tabs. This is where you can set templates for different types of content. If you’d like to do this for (guest) author archive pages, you go to the tab ‘Archives’ and you’ll see ‘Author’ as the first archive type.
